It is vitally important to have mentoring relationships. You need to learn from others and also to help raise up others. I know what it is like to have a great mentor and although this site cannot replace that relationship it can still be a valuable resource.
This is an exciting new feature of the site. Are you passionate about starting something, but you need some help to get started? Leaders are not born, they are developed. You don’t wake up one morning after swallowing the Bible and suddenly you can preach and teach, etc. It takes time to develop your skills.
“If the ax is dull and its edge unsharpened, more strength is needed, but skill will bring success.” NIV
You can work harder and harder each day and accomplish less than the day before OR if you hone your skills you can become more competent.
You don’t need to be a pastor or an apostle to be able to share with a group of people. What you do need is a starting point and a push in the right direction. That is the goal of this section. God wants to work through each of us and you don’t have to disqualify yourself because of a lack of experience. In Exodus 3 Moses and God are speaking and God is calling Moses to go to Pharaoh and to deliver the Israelites from under their slavery to the Egyptians. Moses does not feel that he can do this and God is telling him that he can do it. God calls us as mere mortals to be the instruments through which He will work. Know that you will make mistakes and that you are not perfect. Don’t feel ashamed when you fall down, just decide to never stay down.
